STORM OVER ARNHEM

Aide de Camp 2 Gameset by: Patrick Hirtle (pyhirtle@try-net.or.jp)

These notes are intended to help you get the most out of this gameset. It is assumed that you are already familiar with the mechanics of ADC2.

NOTE: YOU MUST HAVE PATCH 2.07 INSTALLED TO USE THIS SET.

1. THE MAP
I scanned the back of the SOA rulebook to make the map. If you position the cursor over the area numbers and zone letters, the appropriate number/letter will appear in the blue terrain info box at the bottom right of the ADC screen. I have also done this with the Battle Landmarks (the white numbers on the map)

The VP track has been simplified; there are now boxes to denote VP totals from 0-9, plus a +10 and +20 box. There are two VP markers on the track; once the VP total is over 9, simply move the second marker to the +10 box; once the total is over 19, move the second marker to the +20 box.

The German and British Artillery boxes are the small blue/gray and red boxes next to the VP track.

2. THE COUNTERS
The unit counters and game markers are as close to the originals as I could make them. The symbols and the class values will be familiar to anyone who owns Storm over Arnhem.

NOTE: THE BRITISH SET-UP DOTS ARE ON THE COUNTERS AT ZOOM 3 ONLY. GO TO ZOOM 3 WHEN SETTING UP TP DETERMINE WHICH AREA A UNIT CAN SET UP IN.

3. THE .OPS FILE
Units that begin the game on the map are located on the map border - British on the left side, Germans on the right. There are force pools for game markers, German reinforcements and Random event units.

IMPORTANT SET UP NOTE: The British units are defined as HIDDEN in the .OPS file. This is to allow for set-up according to Rules 5.5 and 5.6 The British player should set up first, then send the .OPS file to his opponent, who then sets up his forces. The British units will not be visible to the German player when he sets up. After setting up, the German player should go to the Edit menu at the top of the screen, select Players, then select British. Deselect the box that says USE HIDDEN PIECES FOR THIS PLAYER. Then exit back to the game screen, and under the Advanced Menu, choose Auto-Reveal Now. The British units will now be visible to the German player, and the game can begin.

I think that's it. If you have any questions or problems with this set, or if you find any errors or omissions, please contact me.

Enjoy!
